Proposed by the Chinese President Xi Jinping and jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and Shanghai Municipal People's Government, the China International Import Expo (CIIE) is a high-level international exhibition with individual countries being its participants. The first CIIE, held on November 5th - 10th, 2018 at the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai), had received glowing reviews from local and international attendees. It embodied a significant move that the Chinese government had taken to give firm support to trade liberalization and economic globalization, and to actively open the Chinese market to the world. The second CIIE is scheduled to kick off on November 5th – 10th, 2019 at National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai).

International tourism has already become an important part of the world trade in services and one of the main driving forces of the global economy. With the world's largest tourist population, China has the most remarkable outbound tourism market in size. Organized by the World Tourism Alliance (WTA) and put together by Beijing Relation Conference & Exhibition Services Co., Ltd. (BRE), the "A Happy Life with Travel & Leisure" Forum is going to debut as one of the official forum sessions of the second CIIE at 14:00 on November 6, 2019 at M1-04 Meeting Room of the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai). The Forum will focus on the achievement of harmonious development and enhancement of happiness through the promotion of global tourism exchange and trade, with keynote speeches and panel discussions designed specifically to address the subject matters. With opinion leaders from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of China, China International Import Expo Bureau, WTA members, provincial departments of culture and tourism in China, international institutions and businesses of tourism, health and wellness, as well as media agencies joining us, the max capacity of this Forum will only be 200 seats.
