Today, as the global travel and tourism gradually recovers and returns to a post-pandemic new normal, many have adopted a myriad of innovative ways to communicate, market and operate their business. Opportunities to thrive in the altered landscape of the tourism sector do exist. Uncovering, finding and exploring these opportunities for growth requires a thoughtful and rigorous effort as we recognize that global markets, media and consumer consumption are not created equal. In the hope of forging a path to a future that fulfills the potential and promise of travel and tourism as a major force of change and progress, WTA is bringing back its signature Xianghu Dialogue in Hangzhou, China. Once postponed by reasons of technical difficulties, this long-overdue industry get-together is eventually set to take place on February 23 through 25, 2023. Its theme—Harmonious Symbiosis: A New Paradigm for a New Tourism—has been determined to acknowledge our collective goal of a tourism reset for the revival of our industry.
The WTA·Xianghu Dialogue, 2022 will be held back-to-back with the 2nd WTA General Assembly, at which the WTA community will gather together for the election of the 2nd WTA Council, a significant milestone as we celebrate the culmination of our first five-year development phase. WTA's relatively young journey is a mosaic of memorable shining moments made possible by the support of extraordinary people among its members and partners. We request the pleasure of your company at the WTA·Xianghu Dialogue, 2022. As a gesture of our welcome, complimentary accommodation for up to two members of the delegation will be provided during your stay in Hangzhou. You will also have an opportunity to go on a mini tour to the newly completed WTA headquarters which has been officially settled on the Yahushan Isle on the Xianghu Lake of Hangzhou, China.
According to the provisional measures on cross-border travel, starting from January 8, inbound travelers will need to show a negative nucleic acid test taken within 48 hours prior to departure. The test result will need to be noted in the customs health declaration form. Inbound travelers no longer need to apply for a health code from Chinese embassies or consulates. Those who test positive need to postpone their travel until they have a negative test result.
Inbound travelers with no issues to report in their health declaration who have been given regular customs inspection and quarantine clearance can enter China without being subject to quarantine. Those with issues to report in their health declaration or symptoms such as fever shall receive antigen tests at the customs. For travelers who test positive, those determined to be asymptomatic or mild cases without serious underlying health conditions may self-quarantine or exercise self-care at home or place of residence.
